Going Forward into 2010 ...THINKING GREEN, GOING GREEN

We are blessed to live in this extraordinary place, with its natural beauty and amazing creative and intelligent community. How fortunate we are that Charlottesville and Albemarle County are committed to preserving the beauty and health of our area. Most of us are ready to step up and make the personal commitment to participate in the greening of our professional and personal environments. But often we lack the resources we need to proceed.  

Starting now, this blog will become a resource we can all use as we gather momentum to go green. I invite you to contact me with any ideas, information and contacts you have that can be added to this blog.  I would appreciate your referring your families and friends to this website/blog as well.  Together we can have a greater impact on our community.

I am putting together information on green building materials, architects, builders, contractors, plumbers, HVAC & insulation installers, energy auditors, etc, which will appear here and later will become a permanent page on this website.   I will also contribute information about relevant financial incentives that will make our transition to green viable.  And, I will post information on what action our community and state are taking toward keeping our land, water and air clean and in enacting energy conservation policies and programs.

This year I am earning the green credential from the National Association of Realtors.   Already I am a member of the Green Team of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Association of Realtors.  And I have been concentrating on staying updated on what properties in our area have green features, observing energy audits, etc.

Greening your home will also serve you for the long run in energy costs while you are there and for selling it down the road. When you (or your family or friends) are considering selling your home, I will be glad to consult with you on green improvements you may wish to undertake to make your property more marketable in these difficult economic times.  And I can do a comparable market analysis for you to help you with pricing as your Seller's Representative Specialist (SRS).
